August 1, 2008 Former Expo Design Center Sold to Florida Retailer
San Francisco Business Times

Home Depot has unloaded its former 92,000-square-foot Expo Design Center in East Palo Alto.

The buyer was Florida-based Regency Shopping Centers. The building, which sits on six acres at 1771 East Bayshore Road, sold for an undisclosed price. Patrick McGaughey and Sam Finne with Terranomics Retail Services, the retail arm of NAI BT Commercial, represented the seller.

The Expo, which catered to a wealthier customer base looking for high-end kitchen and bathroom fixtures, opened in 2000 but was shuttered five years later along with 14 other Expo Design Centers. The new owner plans to divide the space to accommodate two new retail tenants.
