Jan 13, 2006 NAI BT Commercial/Terranomics Recipients of Several Prestigious Awards in 2005

San Francisco, California – In what is defined as a successful 2005 year for commercial real estate in the Bay Area, NAI BT Commercial, which has 14 offices strategically located throughout the Bay Area and 216 agents, and its retail division Terranomics, which has 25 agents and is northern California’s leading retail firm, celebrated their own successes as recipients of a handful of prestigious commercial real estate awards during the year. Sources of these awards included major publications such as the San Francisco Business Times, the East Bay Business Times and the Silicon Valley Business Times, as well as national retailer and Terranomics’ client Panda Express.

In March 2005, the San Francisco Business Times recognized biotech giant Genentech’s 780,000 square foot lease transaction in South San Francisco from Slough Estates as the largest lease transaction in the history of the Bay Area. NAI BT Commercial’s Tom Hayes and Dave Lardner represented Genentech in the transaction.

In mid-2005, Sharon Carmichael and Michael Seigel with Terranomics were honored with three top awards at the Panda Express Annual Broker Conference in Rosemead, CA. For the entire United States, Panda Express appointed three Top Broker Deal-Making crystal trophies for the 2004 year in the following categories: most signed leases, most store openings, and highest first week sales. All three top categories were awarded to Carmichael and Seigel. Terranomics has represented Panda Express since 2001 and is working to expand their locations throughout the Bay Area. Panda Express is the leading Chinese QSR in the nation with over 800 stores.

NAI BT Commercial and its retail services division Terranomics were honored in two award categories at the East Bay Business Times Structures Awards held on October 27, 2005. The first award NAI BT Commercial was honored with was among the highest profile categories recognized, “Commercial Brokerage Firm of the Year,” as NAI BT Commercial’s Oakland office completed some of the most prominent deals in the East Bay (mainly industrial/warehouse product) during the year span recognized by the Structure Awards. In all, NAI BT Commercial completed more than 225 lease transactions and more than 80 sale transactions in the East Bay boundaries in the time period allowed. The second award was presented to Matt Kircher, Managing Partner with Terranomics, for “Retail Broker of the Year.” Mr. Kircher joined Terranomics in mid-1995 as a Retail Specialist in San Francisco and became Managing Partner in 1998. In 2003 and 1996, Kircher was the top-producing broker for the firm and has consistently been one of the Bay Area's leading retail brokers the past 14 years.

NAI BT Commercial Vice President Bill Sawyer was recognized in Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Structures awards for his work on the remodel at 890 Broadway in Redwood City, the location of High Tech High (HTH) Bayshore (a charter high school). The High Tech High Bayshore project was honored with the award for “Best Redevelopment/Public Project” of 2005. Mr. Sawyer was a member of the team responsible for locating and creating the award-winning facility.
