Borders to Open New Chapter at Transforming Alameda Towne Centre

Alameda, CA – February 1, 2007 –Sharon Carmichael and Michael Seigel with Terranomics Retail Services represented Harsch Investment Realty (Landlord) in the lease of 23,868 square feet of end cap retail space at Harsch Investment’s Alameda Towne Centre at Park St. and Otis Dr. in Alameda. The Tenant, Borders, will be opening its newest two-story superstore in the fall of 2007.

The 712,000 square-foot Alameda Towne Centre is currently underway with a complete renovation and expansion, headed by architect Field Paoli, to create a World-Class Lifestyle Center featuring new upscale retailers and eateries offering dining al-fresco with views of the San Francisco Bay. Alameda Towne Center is in the process of adding over 30 exciting new stores.


San Jose MarketCenter Adds Famous ‘Star’ Tenant, Carl’s Jr, and El Pollo Loco

San Jose, CA – February 1, 2007 –Todd Oliver and Matt Kircher with Terranomics Retail Services represented Cousins Properties, Inc. (Landlord) in two new retail lease transactions from Carl’s Jr and El Pollo Loco.  In the first transaction, Carl’s, represented by Mike Costa with Terranomics, leased 2,800 square feet of freestanding space and will take occupancy in the summer of 2007. In the second transaction, El Pollo Loco, represented by Jon Stansbury and James Chung with Terranomics, inked a ground lease within the Center and will be constructing a 2,800 square-foot drive-thru restaurant on the pad site. San Jose MarketCenter is anchored by Target, Cost Plus, Petsmart, Michael’s, and a Trader Joe’s is now in the beginning phases of construction. Existing eateries include Panera Bread, RedBrick Pizza, Subway, L&L Hawaiian BBQ, Una Mas, with Chili’s currently putting the final touches on its restaurant structure.


Dudum Sports Entertainment Takes ‘Center Court’ in Tempe, AZ

Tempe, AZ – February 1, 2007 –Rhonda Diaz with Terranomics Retail Services represented Dudum Sports Entertainment in the lease of 10,315 square feet of restaurant space at Tempe Marketplace in Tempe, AZ. The Landlord is Vestar TM-OPCO, LLC. Tempe Marketplace is the second of ten family sports restaurants opening across the country. The first restaurant, “Center Court with C Webb” opened fall 2006 in The Village at Sacramento Gateway. Dudum Sports and Entertainment (DSE), creators of unique concept restaurants McCoveys, Bing Crosby’s and Joe DiMaggio’s, and Santana' new nuevo latino concept Maria Maria, are collaborating with Chris Webber on this new and exciting venture.

Designed in the image of a basketball arena, Center Court is aimed for fan enjoyment while also paying tribute to basketball’s greatest heroes. Center Court will take tenancy in June 2007.


Old Navy to Open Second Location in Clovis, CA

Clovis, CA – February 1, 2007 –Staci Eisler Cole and Drew Greenspan with Terranomics Retail Services represented Old Navy in the new lease of 15,000 square feet of in-line space at NEC Herndon and Clovis in Clovis, CA. The Landlord is Paynter Realty. Old Navy is scheduled to open in April 2007. Old Navy also currently has another Clovis location on Shaw Ave., two store locations in Fresno, and one store in both Hanford and Visalia.


Western Dental Fills Retail Space in San Leandro

San Leandro, CA – February 1, 2007 –Matt Taylor and Mike Costa with Terranomics Retail Services represented Chavez Management Group, Inc. (Landlord) in the lease of 5,073 square feet of retail space at 14895 E. 14th St. in San Leandro. The Lessee was Western Dental, which will occupy space on the ground floor of the 45,000 square-foot office/retail building. The site is located at the intersection of Hesperian Blvd. and E. 14th St., just north of the Bayfair Mall.


Halle Properties/America’s Tire Co. Acquired Retail Site from Castle & Cooke in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA – February 1, 2007 –Jon Stansbury with Terranomics Retail Services brokered the sale of a 39,640 square-foot parcel in Bakersfield. Stansbury represented the Buyer, Halle Properties, LLC / America’s Tire Co. The Seller was Castle & Cooke Commercial. America’s Tire Co. will construct a 6,800 square-foot retail center on the site.


Massage Envy Adds Easily Accessible Location in Pleasant Hill

Pleasant Hill, CA – February 1, 2007 –James Chung and Matt Taylor with Terranomics Retail Services teamed up to broker the lease of 2,683 square feet of in-line retail space at 20 Crescent Dr. in Pleasant Hill. Chung and Taylor represented Massage Envy (Tenant), which provides affordable therapeutic massage, in the transaction to span a term of 10 years. The Landlord is Developers Diversified Realty.  The site sits just off Contra Costa Blvd. with immediate access to I-680.
